A medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah (a) Charitable Hospital successfully treated a patient who suffered from a terrifying triple injury, which included a dislocated elbow joint, a fracture in the forearm bone, and a torn ulnar collateral ligament, commonly known as “Terrible Triad Injury.”
Supervising physician, specialist in Orthopedic and Fracture Surgery, Dr. Mustafa Salah Al-Mulla Hassan, mentioned that: “We received a case of a foreign patient who works in one of the oil companies. We coordinated with the medical department of the company, which provided primary first aid, and then the patient was transferred to our hospital for treatment.”
He adds: “After conducting the clinical examinations and radiological tests, it was found that the patient suffered from a condition known as “Terrible Triad Injury”. After preparing the patient for surgery and forming a medical team under my supervision, including Dr. Dhurgham Al-Masoudi alongside the surgical and nursing staff, we proceeded to address the injured areas, which involved a dislocated elbow joint, a coronoid fracture, and complete disruption of the ulnar collateral ligament and the anterior collateral ligament.”
Dr. Mustafa also adds: “After repositioning the coronoid, reducing the dislocation, and repairing the injured tendons, the patient successfully recovered from the surgeries and was in good condition.”
He then adds: “After a week and examinations, it was found that the patient had improved and was in excellent condition.”
