A medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital in Karbala was able to perform maxillofacial surgery on a 65-year-old patient, who had been exposed to a serious accident that led to fractures in the face, eye socket, and upper jaw, according to the treating doctor.
Dr. Muhannad Salah, a specialist in maxillofacial surgery at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, stated:

“The surgery was conducted with the assistance of Dr. Muntazer Al-Nasrawi and Dr. Ali Salah, and with the participation of Dr. Abdel Amir Nouri, an anesthesiologist, as well as nurses Ali Ahmed and Ahmed Saadoun.”

He pointed out that

“The surgery took 3 hours, during which the upper jaw was attached to the bottom and the eye socket and facial bones were fixed with metal plates.”

Dr. Salah pointed out that

“The patient’s condition was serious, as a crane pressed on the patient’s face, which led to the shattering of the upper jaw bones and eye socket.”

He stated that

“The patient was discharged from the hospital in good health, and is currently recovering.”
