A man in his fifties almost lost his left hand permanently due to a cut in the main blood artery had it not been for the intervention of doctors at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital to save it from amputation.

Thoracic and vascular surgery specialist Dr. Ihsan Al-Amiri stated: “A 50-year-old patient visited Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital suffering from a cut in the main artery of the left hand (the brachial artery), which caused blood to not reach the forearm.”

He adds: “The patient was in a critical condition, and his ability to use his hand normally was at risk. He could even lose his hand permanently.”

He adds: He added: “Thanks to the modern technologies available at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital, we were able to repair the artery, connect it, and restore blood flow naturally again.”

Dr. Ihsan Al-Amiri confirmed, “we were able to save the left hand and left forearm from amputation and stop the bleeding.”

Anesthesiologists: Dr. Abdul Amir Nouri and Dr. Firas Abbas.
