A specialized medical team at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital ended the suffering of a young man in his twenties with “severe varicose veins” after undergoing a successful operation.

Thoracic and vascular surgery specialist Dr. Ihsan Al-Amiri stated: “The young man complains of very severe varicose veins in the thigh, leg, and right foot, along with deformities in the foot and leg, and venous ulcers as a result of these severe varicose veins and skin discolorations.”

He stressed that “the patient has reached the stage of disability and has been prevented from working because of these varicose veins. He visited many healthcare centers and doctors and did not find treatment, and some of them refused to provide treatment to him due to the deterioration of the patient’s health condition.”

Dr. Al-Amiri said: “The patient came to Imam al-Hujjah Hospital, and after undergoing all the required tests, an operation was performed to lift the varicose veins and close the venous valves that were the cause of the formation of the varicose veins,” stressing that the surgery “took an hour and a half and was crowned with success, praise be to Allah.”

He pointed out that “the patient is in very good condition and within hours he will be discharged from the hospital, God willing.”

He pointed out that “the anesthesiologist, Dr. Abdel Amir Al-Nouri, used spinal anesthesia because the patient suffers from obesity, and for fear of any respiratory problems due to bronchial allergy.”
