A medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital was able to perform a resection and cleaning of the lower jaw of a 55-year-old patient suffering from breast cancer that had spread to the spine.
The specialist in maxillofacial surgery at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Muhannad Salah, stated that

“The operation faced some challenges, the most important of which was the patient’s excess weight and her suffering from chronic diseases, in addition to cancerous spreads in the body that led to an imbalance in white and red blood cells.”

He explained that

“The patient suffered from severe pain in the lower jaw as a result of bone necrosis and shattering of the lower jaw.”

He explains:

“Despite the difficulty of the operation, which took about an hour and a half, due to the skill of the medical team and the advanced capabilities available at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, the operation was performed successfully under general anesthesia.”

Dr. Salah confirmed that

“The patient was discharged from the hospital after the operation and is improving after controlling the jaw pain.”
