Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital held a medical evening entitled “Informed Consent – An Important Ethical Medical Procedure,” under the supervision of Dr. Abdel Salam Sultan and in the presence of Dr. Thamer Hamdan.
Dr. Abdel Salam stated:

“When I am in Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, I feel as if I am in one of the hospitals of the developed countries of the world because of the advanced equipment it contains.”

He explains:

“Attention to medical ethics in hospitals is rare, but in Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital there is interest in such important activities.”

During his lecture that he delivered that evening, he talked about:

“The disturbances and problems that may occur between the patient and the doctor due to the failure to complete the basic pillars of informed consent” and he touched on how to obtain informed consent from the patient.

He also touched on the need to establish

“Correct foundations for the informed consent form, as well as an agreement with hospital officials to prepare a new document for the patient’s consent to the medical procedure.”

The evening witnessed extensive discussions and exchange of opinions from several parties – medical, legal and social – and the evening was admired by the attendees as they praised the lectures and those responsible for them.
