Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital Saves Child’s Life from Enlarged Spleen and Thalassemia

A specialized medical team at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in performing a qualitative operation on a 10-year-old child from Hilla City.
The general surgery specialist at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Ali Jaber, stated:

“The patient had thalassemia, severe enlargement of the spleen and liver, with gallstones.”

He explains:

“The enlarged spleen led to recurrent bleeding, resulting in the patient needing frequent blood transfusions.”

He adds:

“The medical team successfully performed the surgery to remove the spleen and gallbladder, which is a complex operation that requires high medical expertise, skilled nursing staff, and modern medical equipment.”

Dr. Jaber confirmed that the patient was discharged from the hospital in good health, after receiving excellent medical care from the medical team.
He pointed out that the anesthesia procedure was conducted under the supervision of the hospital’s anesthesiologist, Dr. Abdul Amir Nouri.
