Lebanese spine surgeon Dr. Isaac Lattouf performed a proactive surgery to save a patient in his 20s from inevitable paraplegia.
Dr. Lattouf stated that the young man came to the hospital complaining of numbness in his legs and walking difficulty. He was diagnosed with spinal disc herniation in the 12th thoracic vertebra and the 1st lumbar vertebra, which called for surgical intervention.
He added: “It was a complex surgery because we had to open and repair the spinal canal between T11 and T12, and between L1 and L2. The patient was discharged after making a full recovery.”
Dr. Isaac Lattouf is available at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital from Saturday to Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
