A specialized medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital was able to remove a ureteral stone from a patient in critical condition who suffers from diabetes, heart failure, and an obstruction in the left kidney.
The urology specialist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Yahya al-Khafaji, stated that

“The patient was in critical condition and at risk of developing complications due to chronic diseases, especially diabetes and heart failure. Also, the obstruction of the left kidney had led to a partial deficiency in kidney function.”

Dr. Al-Khafaji adds:

“We conducted the scientific procedure to remove the stone using a ureteroscope under regional anesthesia, in cooperation with anesthesiologist Dr. Abdel Amir Nouri and Dr. Muhammad Ali Muhammad Shubar.”

He confirmed that

“The operation was crowned with success, Praise be to God, as the stone was removed, the ureter was opened, and the patient was discharged from the hospital in a state of marked improvement.”
