The surgical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, led by cardiologist Ali Tfaili (Lebanon), performed a pacemaker insertion for a woman in her 60s suffering from chest pain and a slow heart rate. Dr. Tfaili stated that he began with a diagnostic catheterization which revealed that the patient had arterial problems. Two days later, the patient was diagnosed with chronic bradycardia. He added: “We implanted a temporary pacemaker at first and once the patient’s condition started to improve we implanted a permanent device. The surgery produced a successful outcome.”
