The neonatal care team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in saving the life of a twin suffering from Infant Respiratory Distress Syndrome (IRDS).
Dr. Hayder Adil explains that the syndrome affects infants after birth immediately, which calls for caution and special care to ensure the baby’s wellbeing. It’s worth noting that the newborn’s twin brother was in perfect health.
The pediatrician adds: “Thanks to Allah and the availability of advanced medical technology at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, the infant was saved. We kept him under observation around the clock and we put him on C-pap to stabilize his oxygen level. His health condition started to improve in a short time, and then we put him on phototherapy to treat his jaundice, and he was getting better quickly until we discharged him.”
The neonatal care unit at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital offers top-quality healthcare services to infants around the clock and it’s outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and an expert staff of physicians and nurses.
