A medical team specialized in urinary tract surgery from Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in ending the suffering of a fifty-year-old patient from Dhi Qar who was complaining of a complete obstruction in the right ureter along with severe pneumonia and multiple stones in the right kidney.
The urology specialist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Amir al-Araji, stated that

“The patient had suffered for more than a year from multiple symptoms, including pain, loss of appetite, serious urinary infections (airborne infections), signs of blood poisoning, and severe urinary symptoms such as heartburn, and urinary incontinence.”

He adds:

“After conducting the necessary tests, the patient was diagnosed using laboratory tests and a CT scan, which showed a complete obstruction in the right ureter with severe pneumonia and multiple stones in the right kidney that formed as a result of the obstruction.”

Dr. Al-Araji confirmed

“An emergency laparoscopic surgery was performed on the patient to open the right ureter, but complete ureteral obstruction prevented the completion of the opening of the urinary tract.”

In addition, the surgical staff had to perform a nephrostomy to empty the pus, in addition to optimal medical treatment, according to Dr. Al-Araji.
The urology specialist explained that

“The patient was discharged from the hospital in good health, and treatment for the right ureteral obstruction and stones will be completed after the patient’s health stabilizes.”
