The obstetrics and gynecology team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, led by Dr. Taktum Sakhar Al-Erabi, successfully saved a mother’s and her newborn’s life. Dr. Taktum stated that “the 40-year-old patient was in her third trimester and she had uterine fibroids as well as diabetes. We followed up on her health condition for two months to ensure her and the fetus’ safety.”
Dr. Taktum added: “we admitted the patient to the operating room and performed a Cesarean section with the assistance of anesthesiologist Abd Al-Ameer Noori who administered the TAP block. The surgery was successful and both the mother and her son are in good health.” It’s worth mentioning that the TAP block is the latest technique in pain management after Cesarean delivery, and it’s used in Karbala exclusively at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital.
