The medical staff at the Ob-Gyn Department of Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital successfully saved the life of an unborn baby that was at risk of being miscarried.
Dr. Taktum Sakhar commented on the case: “The 30-year-old mother traveled all the way from Basra to visit Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital. She had five miscarriages in the past and she suffers from chronic hypertension, diabetes, and has been struggling with primary infertility for six years.”
Dr. Sakhar continued: “The patient underwent a cervical cerclage and we followed up on her health until her due date. At 8 months pregnant, she came to the hospital in an urgent condition and had a normal delivery. Both mother and her newborn received intensive care and they’re in excellent health now.”
