A 34-year-old young woman survived the complications and pain of serious problems in the pelvis and uterus, after seeking the help of a specialized medical team at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital, who performed a complex operation on her.

Obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Manal Naseh said: “The patient came to us and she has been suffering from primary infertility for 10 years with severe pain in the pelvic area. After clinical examination and ultrasound, it was found that the patient was complaining of the spread of endometriosis (a mass collecting fluid in the pelvis).”

And she added: “It was also revealed that the endometriosis had spread in the pelvis with the presence of a large blood cyst (chocolate cyst) size 10*8 in the left tube with severe adhesions between the intestine, uterus and pelvis, and the presence of expansion in the right tube and its blockage with the presence of a functional cyst, which led to an emergency operation.

Dr. Manal Naseh confirmed, “An emergency laparoscopic operation was performed to clean the pelvis of fluids and blood. The adhesions were separated, the cyst was emptied, the damage was removed from the right tube, the functional cyst was lifted, and the pelvis was cleaned of fluids and blood.”

The obstetrician and gynecologist indicated that the operation was a very difficult and complex, but thanks to the skilled medical staff, which consists of Dr. Ali Al-Nasrawi, a general surgery specialist, and the well-trained nursing team in the hospital, with all the supplies, we were able to save the patient’s life.” The operation took two hours.
