The heart of a 49-year-old patient stopped due to a sudden health crisis, as a result of which she was transferred to the emergency department of Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital in Holy Karbala.
The patient was complaining of severe chest pain and shortness of breath. After conducting the necessary tests in the emergency department, the patient’s heart stopped working.
However, the medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital intervened immediately to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
After that, she was urgently transferred to the catheterization department at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital.
Through the diagnostic catheterization performed on the patient under the supervision of Dr. Imad Marji, it was found that there was an almost complete blockage in the left anterior artery and the left posterior artery.
The patient underwent a therapeutic catheterization and two meshes were placed on these two arteries. The patient was then transferred to the intensive care unit for monitoring and follow-up treatment. She was discharged 24 hours later and is in better health.
