Thanks to successful in-vitro fertilization, a woman from Karbala was able to conceive twins after a 13-year battle with infertility. The patient, who struggles with acute asthma, visited Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital for prenatal care. On her due date, the patient underwent a Cesarean section, performed by obstetrician-gynecologist Aliya Al-Musawi. The first-time mother gave birth to a boy and a girl, and all three of them are in good health now.
Dr. Al-Musawi reported that the patient had struggled with infertility for 13 years and she received IVF at an Iraqi health facility. This case was particularly challenging because the patient was severely asthmatic, which posed a serious threat to her life.
However, the expert surgical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, assisted by anesthesiologist Firas Al-Saigh, performed a successful Cesarean delivery without any complications. The mother and her two newborns were discharged from the hospital in perfect health.
