As a result of the development of methods used in therapeutic catheterization, it has become able to replace open-heart surgeries in many cases.

“This is what the interventional cardiology and catheterization team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital achieved,”

according to Dr. Hussein Al-Chaabi (Lebanon).

📌 One of the most prominent features of the catheter is that:
– It takes a very short time compared to the surgical operation.
– The patient can leave the hospital the next day.
– Local anesthesia is often used instead of general anesthesia, which prevents anesthesia complications for patients with other diseases.

In open-heart surgery, general anesthesia is used, the chest is opened, and the heartbeat is temporarily suppressed, which must be done with the utmost care.
The recovery period after surgery ranges between 3-5 days, and in some cases it may take a month! While the recovery period after the catheterization procedure does not exceed 48 hours.
