The open-heart surgery team from the United States of America, led by Dr. Javid Saifi, division chief for cardiac surgery at St. Peter’s Hospital in New York, performed a number of successful surgeries at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, in the Holy City of Karbala, Iraq. The hospital media department reported that during his September visit, Dr. Saifi received a lot of patients, some of whom were in need of open-heart surgery. This week, Dr. Saifi returned to Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital with his team and a number of Iraqi patients underwent open-heart surgery with outstanding results, thanks to the expertise of the team and the medical technology available at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital. The latter offered more than a 50% discount on the cost of surgery to sponsor Iraqi patients who can’t afford to travel abroad for treatment.
