The Intensive Care Unit received a case for a woman in her 50s suffering from dehydration, pancytopenia, and hyponatremia. The patient was unresponsive and she had lost consciousness.
Medical examination and laboratory tests were carried out and IV therapy was administered to restabilize the patient’s condition. She began to regain consciousness until she was fully awake and responsive. Her breathing and blood level returned to normal.
She was sent to the inpatient ward to continue her treatment, under the supervision of Dr. Hashim Zayni (internist) and Dr. Hussein Al-Hajj (intensivist). The woman’s family as well as the IHH staff were overjoyed upon her successful recovery.
