The cardiac catheterization team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital successfully saved the life of a woman in her 70s suffering from acute heart failure. Interventional cardiologist Sami Saad (Lebanon) reported that the elderly patient had three blocked arteries and was scheduled for open-heart surgery, but because she was hypertensive and diabetic she couldn’t wait any longer. The surgical team decided to perform catheterization to save the lady’s life, with the assistance of renowned interventional cardiologist Mohamad Dbouk (Lebanon).
Dr. Saad added: “We opened the blocked arteries using the latest medical technology. The surgery was complex but it had a pleasant outcome as the patient regained her health and was discharged from the hospital after making a full recovery.”
