Surgeon from India Successfully Performs Knee Joint Replacement at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital

Medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in performing a total joint replacement of the left knee for a 63-year-old patient who was complaining of joint pain.

The Indian doctor, specialist in knee and pelvic joint replacement and consultant in orthopedics and fracture surgery using modern methods, Dr. Murtada Adeeb, performed the surgery at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, with the participation of an Iraqi medical team.

Dr. Adeeb stated, “The patient suffered from chronic rheumatism and her leg was swollen.”

He adds: “Reaching the bone was difficult due to rheumatism, and we were operating with extreme caution so that the surgery could be completed successfully and without any problems.”

He adds: “We opted for spinal anesthesia administered Dr. Abdul Amir Al-Nouri.”

He confirmed that “the operation was conducted with the participation of the Iraqi surgeon, Dr. Abbas Al-Taie.”

He concluded by saying: “The surgery was successful, and the patient’s condition is stable.”
