A specialized medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in performing an operation on a forty-year-old patient who had been suffering from difficulty urinating and severe and recurrent urinary infections for more than ten years.
The urology specialist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Amir al-Araji, stated that

“Radiographic and endoscopic examinations showed that the patient had undergone previous operations to repair and patch the urethra due to congenital malformations.”

He explains:

“These operations resulted in the formation of pockets in the urethra, which led to stagnant urine and the formation of multiple stones inside these pockets due to the presence of hair inside the urinary tract.”

Dr. Al-Araji pointed out that

“The medical team performed a laparoscopic diagnostic operation on the patient, followed by an operation to remove the stones and refine the pockets.”

He pointed out that

“This procedure led to the smooth passage of urine from the bladder.”

Dr. Al-Araji also confirmed that

“The patient was discharged from the hospital after the operation in good condition, alhamdulillah.”
