The urology team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital successfully performed surgery to correct the right ureter of a 4-year-old boy. Urologist Ameer Al-Araji stated that the patient was suffering from a rare, congenital obstruction in his right kidney due to an abnormal artery that was restricting the kidney and ureter and blocking the natural flow of urine, resulting in severe pain, nausea, and vomiting.
Dr. Al-Araji also added: “We performed ureteral correction and moved the ureter away from the right renal artery in a supra-major surgery that took about two hours. The child left the hospital after making a full recovery.”
