A medical team specialized in heart disease and catheter therapy at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in saving the life of a fifty-year-old woman who was suffering from severe heart muscle weakness.
The cardiology and catheterization specialist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Hussein Al-Chaabi, stated:

“The patient suffered from shortness of breath for a year, and she visited several hospitals and health centers to no avail, until she decided to come to Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, where she received the accurate diagnosis.”

He adds:

“Tests showed the presence of fluid in the lung, which raised our suspicions of heart muscle weakness.”

Dr. Al-Chaabi confirmed:

“We performed an echocardiogram, which confirmed a 45% weakness in the heart muscle. Accordingly, a diagnostic catheterization was performed to determine the cause, as it was found that there was a complete blockage in one of the arteries.”

He explained:

“After consulting the patient’s family, an emergency therapeutic catheterization was performed, which is a complicated operation given the age of the obstruction.”

He continues:

“The operation was successful, thanks to God Almighty and the competence of the medical team, and the patient was discharged from the hospital in good health.”

Dr. Al-Chaabi also stated that the patient suffers from another 70% blockage in one of the arteries, stressing that a second catheterization will be performed at a later stage to open it.
