The Obstetrics-Gynecology Department at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital Received an emergency for a woman in her 40s suffering from severe pain. Medical examination and ultrasound results showed a twisted ovarian cyst which caused internal bleeding and excruciating pain. Obstetrician-gynecologist Sundus Karam stated that the patient was quickly prepared for emergency surgery to alleviate her pain but during the procedure, the surgeon discovered that the cyst had ruptured and caused the internal bleeding. Some parts of the cyst were strongly attached to the patient’s uterus and intestine. General surgeon Ammer Al-Masoodi was called immediately and he arrived as soon as possible to ensure the patient’s safety. The surgery was successful, thanks to the team spirit of Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital’s expert staff.
