A specialized medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital performed a complex surgery on a young man in his twenties who had been involved in a car accident.
As a result of the accident, the patient suffered multiple fractures in the right and left eye sockets, as well as fractures in the upper jaw, according to maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Muhannad Salah.
The young injured man underwent a 3-hour surgery at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, during which multiple facial fractures were stabilized using titanium metal plates and through very small incisions under the eye to stabilize the right and left orbital fractures on both the right and left sides.
The medical team was also able to stabilize the fractures of the upper jaw after fixing the upper jaw to the bottom.
This surgery was performed under general anesthesia, which was performed by Dr. Abdul Amir Al-Nouri using nasal intubation, which requires advanced skills by the medical and nursing team.
