Our hospital commemorates World Heart Day with a scientific lecture

In commemoration of World Heart Day, Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital held a lecture in which a number of important topics related to “heart disease” were discussed in the presence of a number of specialists and interested parties.
The lecture was given by Dr. Ahmed Al-Haidari, a specialist in cardiology and catheter therapy at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital.
Dr. Al-Haidari discussed heart diseases, the risk factors affecting them, and how to avoid them.
He called for the importance of awareness of heart disease and its impact on public health, as heart disease is one of the most prominent causes of death in the world.
Dr. Al-Haidari also explained, in part of his lecture, a group of factors that affect heart health, including genetic factors, poor eating habits, limited physical activity, weight gain, smoking, high blood pressure, and high levels of cholesterol in the blood.
The cardiologist and catheter therapy specialist provided a set of tips on how to prevent heart disease, including:
Adopt a healthy lifestyle, which includes following a balanced and regular diet.
Exercise regularly.
Refrain from smoking and avoid exposing the body to secondhand smoke.
Monitor and treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels.
Maintain and control a healthy weight.
Dr. Al-Haidari stressed the importance of early detection through regular medical examinations for early detection of heart diseases, as prevention and early diagnosis can be the key to successful treatment.
He also stressed the importance of spreading awareness about heart diseases and risk factors among the attendees’ relatives and their community, and contributing to improving heart health by pointing out healthy behaviors.
