A specialized medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital was able to protect a mother and her fetus from the danger of premature birth in the eighth month of pregnancy after she was exposed to health problems that caused her severe pain that prevented her from sleeping.
Gynecologist and obstetrician, Dr. Taktum Sakhr, stated:

“The patient came to us when she was in the eighth month of pregnancy and was complaining of severe pain that prevented her from sleeping.”

Adding:

“Before that, the patient visited many doctors and hospitals and was prescribed types of painkillers, but despite that, her pain was not alleviated and her real illness was not diagnosed.”

And she added:

“Some doctors diagnosed her with appendicitis, but surgery was not performed on the patient due to her pregnancy.”

Dr. Sakher explained:

“We diagnosed the problem at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital… and it turned out that the patient was complaining of a very large cyst on the adrenal gland, causing bleeding.”

She continued by saying:

“We admitted her to Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital urgently and formed a medical team of “internal medicine specialist Dr. Akram Abdel Hassan, general surgeon Dr. Ali Al-Mayali, in addition to the obstetrician and gynecologist,” and we reached the decision that it’s necessary to maintain her pregnancy through special injections to complete the growth of the fetus’s lungs, as we were fearful that the patient’s condition might worsen and she might go into preterm labor.”

The obstetrician and gynecologist concluded:

“After being treated and reaching the ninth month of pregnancy, the patient successfully gave birth by caesarean section at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital. She was discharged from the hospital with her child in good health.”
