Medical Team Successfully Uses Laser Technology to Break up Kidney Stones for a Thirty-Year-Old Patient at Imam Al-Hujjah Charitable Hospital.

Medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Charitable Hospital successfully performed a kidney stone fragmentation procedure for a thirty-year-old patient who was suffering from urinary tract obstruction. The procedure was carried out using laser technology and regional anesthesia.
According to Dr. Haider Ali Al-Qadi, a specialist in urology and urinary surgery, “The patient was suffering from urinary obstruction due to the presence of multiple stones, which caused him lower abdominal pain.”
He adds: “The patient’s body is prone to stone formation. The patient also suffers from chronic conditions including diabetes and hypertension,”
Dr. Haider Ali also noted, “We performed the procedure on the patient using regional anesthesia, with the assistance of our anesthesiologist, Dr. Abdul Amir Nouri, at Imam Al-Hujjah Charitable Hospital.
The stones were fragmented using endoscopic instruments and laser technology.”
He confirmed that “the sizes of the stones ranged from 17 mm to 11 mm” The patient was discharged from the hospital the following day, with improvement in his condition.
