A medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital was able to save the life of a seventy-year-old man who was suffering from a severe heart attack due to blockage and calcification of one of his arteries.

According to the hospital’s cardiology and catheterization specialist, Dr. Ali Tfaili, “the patient was suffering from severe pain and shortness of breath.”

He adds: “After the examination, we found that there were changes in the ECG, which necessitated an urgent diagnostic catheterization.”

He adds: “We later learned from the patient’s family that he had suffered a heart attack and had been hospitalized. Despite this, he was not given a catheterization without knowing the reasons.”

According to Dr. Tfaili, “We discovered a total blockage of the left descending artery and severe calcification.”

He confirmed by saying: “We performed a therapeutic catheterization on him using special materials and placed two meshes on the artery, and the patient is now in good health.”
