A specialized medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital was able to perform an emergency operation on a young man in his forties who was involved in a traffic accident, which resulted in him suffering a bone. The operation was crowned with success. Orthopedic and traumatology specialist at our hospital, Dr. Haider Dhaher, explains: “The patient came to the emergency department and was suffering from a shattering in the left hip joint following a bike accident, and his condition required urgent treatment.” Dhaher stressed that the challenge he faced during the operation was “that the bone had shattered and this is considered one of the types of complex fractures. The patient also complained of irregular diabetes, which made the anesthesiologist, Dr. Abdel Amir Nouri, use regional anesthesia on the patient.” He said: “Thanks to the modern techniques available at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, during the operation we stabilized the crushed bone with an implant through three 1 cm incisions. The operation was completely successful.” The orthopedic and traumatology specialist added that the patient “started physical therapy 4 hours after the operation and was able to move, alhamdulillah.”
