A 50-year-old man almost lost his life due to a severe heart attack had it not been for the intervention of doctors at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital, where cardiologist and catheter therapy specialist Dr. Sami Saad was able to save the patient.
The patient was complaining of chest pain upon any exertion, along with severe palpitations, according to Dr. Sami.
He stated that “The patient took various medications to regulate the heartbeat, but to no avail. He also visited many doctors and did not improve.”
He adds: “During an EKG procedure at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, we discovered a deficiency in the functioning of the heart muscle and a severe acceleration of its heartbeat.”
The cardiologist and catheter therapy specialist noted, “The patient’s condition worsened and he began to suffer over time from a sharp drop in blood pressure, shortness of breath, and severe sweating.”
He adds: “We diagnosed the condition after examination and observation. We found an electrical disturbance in the heart.”
He also stated: “This condition causes blood clotting inside the left atrium and leads to strokes.”
Dr. Sami Saad explained, “After taking several medical and therapeutic procedures at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital under general anesthesia and using transesophageal endoscopy to ensure that there were no blood clots, the heart function stabilized and the patient was treated.”
The doctor concluded: “Alhamdulillah, the patient was discharged in good health after he also underwent a diagnostic catheterization to ensure that there were no blockages in the arteries of the heart.”
