After suffering from chronic varicose veins, a forty-year-old patient got rid of pain, ulcers, and discoloration in his foot after undergoing a one-hour operation using the latest advanced medical device in this field here at IHH.
Vascular surgeon, Dr. Ihsan Al-Ameri, said: “The patient visited us, and he was in an advanced condition, suffering from severe pain and a worsening of his medical condition.”
He also added: “The varicose veins led to discoloration in the foot and lower right leg, along with the presence of ulcers caused by the severity of chronic varicose veins.”
Al-Ameri added: “The challenge we faced during the operation was the complicated medical condition and the patient’s unsuitability for general anesthesia due to hypertension and a smoking addiction.”
He adds: “We used regional anesthesia with the patient, administered by Dr. Zaid Al-Mousawi, anesthesiologist.”
The vascular surgeon also confirmed that “The varicose vein removal surgery was performed on the patient and took one hour, and the surgery was successful after monitoring the patient’s health for three hours. The patient is now in good condition.”
