A medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in fragmenting large kidney stones with an opening of only 1 cm, using the nephroscopy technique.
The urology specialist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Abbas Fadel, mentioned that

“The patient, a 60-year-old man, had suffered from three previous strokes, in addition to diabetes and high blood pressure.”

He adds

“The size of the patient’s left kidney stone reached 90 mm, which is considered very large, and could cause serious complications if it is not treated properly.”

Dr. Fadel explained that

“The lithotripsy was performed using the nephroscopy technique, which is a modern technique that allows the operation to be performed through a very small opening in the abdomen, and it reduces pain and bleeding, as well as speeding up the healing process.”

Dr. Fadel pointed out that

“The operation was completed successfully without any complications.”

Anesthesiologist: Dr. Zaid Al-Moussawi.
