A 38-year-old woman gave birth to triplets at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, 20 years after primary infertility.
This is the fourth case of triplets that occurred at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital during the year 2023.
The obstetrician and gynecologist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Bushra Al-Hashemi, stated:
“We performed a successful caesarean section on a 38-year-old woman, which resulted in the birth of triplets (two girls and a boy).”
Adding:
“The woman had been suffering from primary infertility for 20 years, and she was treated in several stages. She was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, had color x-rays performed, and began ovarian stimulation treatments.”
The obstetrician and gynecologist added:
“After medical follow-up and treatment, the pregnancy occurred after 20 years of being deprived of children.”
She continued by saying:
“The woman had difficulty during the seventh month due to contractions, and intensive follow-up began during these months. When she reached the 35th week of pregnancy, signs of labor began to appear, and she had to be admitted to the hospital in an emergency.”
Dr. Al-Hashemi said:
“The woman gave birth to triplets and they are in good health.”
Dr. Al-Hashemi expected the woman to bleed, Adding:
“For this reason, all necessary requirements were prepared with the participation of Dr. Hawraa Sami Al-Sulaikhi, a pediatric specialist at the hospital, who provided the necessary care for the babies.”
Dr. Bushra Al-Hashemi pointed out that:
“The neonatal unit at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital is distinguished by good care, trained staff, and advanced technology.”
