The cardiac catheterization team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital successfully saved the life of a man in his 70s who suffered a sudden heart attack. Interventional cardiologist Emad Marji explains: “The patient presented to our emergency department at around 2:00 AM of new year’s eve. He received primary care and was sent to the cath lab where he underwent emergency diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization. We discovered that he had severe stenosis in the left descending artery as well as in the posterior artery. We placed two meshes to open the blockages and the patient’s heart started to function properly. The surgery was very successful, and the patient was discharged after making a full recovery, alhamdulillah.”
