The emergency department at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital received a case for a woman in her 60s suffering from severe pain and changes in the normal ECG pattern. After the medical examination, she was referred to the cath lab, under the supervision of interventional cardiologist Dr. Ali Al-Tfaili.

The media department stated that: “The patient underwent emergency coronary angiography which revealed a total blockage in an old stent and another severe narrowing in the same artery.”

They also stated: “The clogged stent was opened using a balloon and a new stent placement. The patient is in good health now.”

The patient had previously undergone a stent placement 8 days ago after suffering from coronary thrombosis, but her health condition had only gotten worse. It’s worth mentioning that the emergency department receives urgent cases around the clock, under the supervision of specialized medical staff.
