Once again, the intensive care team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital proves their readiness and dedication to saving patients’ lives, this time saving an elderly man who was admitted with a 6/15 score on the Glasgow Coma Scale as a result of severe subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by high blood pressure.

The patient remained under the observation of expert physicians, resident doctors, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff. He was prepared for surgery to remove the blood clot that was pressuring his brain tissues and cavities.
Dr. Hussein Al-Haj, head of the Intensive Care Department, reported that the patient underwent the successful surgery and returned to the ICU to monitor his health condition. His consciousness level increased to 13/15. Al-Haj adds: “During the three days of stay at the ICU following his surgery, the patient received the necessary medicines, conservative treatment, and physiotherapy until his health was fully recovered and he was sent to the inpatient ward to complete his treatment.”

It’s worth mentioning that this case was treated by Dr. Hazim Moojid (neurosurgeon), Dr. Hashim Zayni (internist), Dr. Hussein Al-Haj (senior anesthesiologist/intensivist), and a number of highly-qualified resident doctors and nurses.
