A medical team specialized in general surgery at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital was able to perform a complex surgery on a patient who was suffering from the presence of two watery cysts in the liver and in areas that are difficult to reach.
The general surgery specialist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, Dr. Muhammad Abbas, who performed the operation, stated:

“The medical team faced great difficulty in removing the two cysts due to their location in the seventh and eighth lobes of the liver, which are the closest lobes of the liver to the diaphragm.”

He explains:

“The medical team was able to release the two watery cysts and remove the adhesions in the abdominal wall with an operation performed under general anesthesia by anesthesiologist Dr. Muhammad Ali Muhammad Shubar.”

He adds:

“The water from the two cysts was drained and a substance was pushed in to kill the roots of the cysts, then the two cysts were removed through the suction device.”

Dr. Abbas confirmed that

“The surgery was successful, and the patient was discharged from the hospital and is improving.”
