Cancerous tumor removed from the kidney of a 30-year-old smoker

A specialized medical team at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in performing a surgery to remove a cancerous kidney tumor for a patient in his thirties who is a smoker.
Dr. Riyad Rashid, a urology specialist at Imam al-Hujjah Hospital, said, “The patient was suffering from a solid cancerous mass in the left kidney.”
He adds: “We performed the surgery on the patient through abdominal laparoscopy, in which the tumor was partially removed while preserving the kidney.”
He pointed out that “the patient is now in good health.”
On his part, Dr. Zaid Al-Moussawi, an anesthesiologist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, said, “The patient suffered from sudden high blood pressure during the surgery and it was successfully controlled. We supervised the anesthesia with Dr. Osama Issa.”
