The Department of Health in Karbala, on Wednesday, commended IHH for its humanitarian role alongside the launch of a blood donation campaign to support the main blood bank in Karbala.
Dr. Qais Rasheed Abbas, supervisor of the blood bank in Karbala, stated that “the blood bank section, in collaboration with Imam Al-Hujjah Charitable Hospital, is organizing a blood donation campaign on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.”
He also added: “This is not the first time in which IHH takes this humanitarian initiative, they do it every year.”
He continued to state that “The coordination between the hospital management and the blood bank was remarkable. The participation numbers in the campaign were very good, and the turnout from the visitors was remarkable.”
He also confirms that “The hospital staff’s interaction was exceptional and humane.” He adds: “We look forward to organizing continuous blood donation campaigns in cooperation with Imam Al-Hujjah Charitable Hospital.”
On his part, the medical advisor of IHH, Dr. Mahdi Abd Al-Saheb, confirmed that the campaign witnessed a large turnout from both local citizens and the staff.
He adds: “This humanitarian campaign aims to contribute to saving the lives of people in need of this blood and to support the main blood bank in Karbala.”
