A medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in performing a hysterectomy on a forty-year-old woman who was complaining of severe bleeding.
Dr. Ola Al-Shaibani, an obstetrician and gynecologist at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, stated that the hysterectomy was difficult due to the large number of fibrous nodes.
Adding: “The patient went to the hospital complaining of severe bleeding, increased abdominal space, and a feeling of heaviness. These symptoms continued for three years.”
Adding: “After conducting the necessary tests, we discovered that the patient had more than 10 fibrous nodes on the uterus.”
She confirmed that “based on this, we decided to perform an emergency hysterectomy.”
Dr. Al-Shaibani explained that the surgery “was completed successfully, and the patient was discharged from the hospital in an improved health condition.”
She pointed out that “this surgery is considered difficult, because the challenge in the procedure lies in the number of nodes located above the uterus, so there’s a possibility of scratching or injuring the bladder during the operation.”
