After more than five years of suffering from chronic renal pain and persistent back pain—turning daily life into a relentless challenge—a specialized medical team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital successfully closed the chapter on one of the most complex kidney cases by performing an advanced endoscopic procedure to remove a staghorn kidney stone measuring over 10 cm.
Dr. Amir Al-A‘raji, Specialist in Urology, explained: “This was by no means an easy case. The patient had multiple high-risk factors, most notably heavy smoking and weakened cardiac function, which had led to repeated postponement of surgical intervention at other medical centers.”

This significantly reduced surgical risks and helped accelerate the patient’s recovery.”
He further noted that:
“The procedure lasted approximately two hours under general anesthesia, and the anesthetic supervision provided by Dr. Abdul Amir Nouri played a crucial role in maintaining the patient’s clinical stability throughout the operation.”
Thanks to these combined efforts, the intervention was a complete success, and the patient was later discharged from the hospital in good health, finally free from years of debilitating pain.
