The medical team specializing in cardiology at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital succeeded in saving the life of a 90-year-old patient who was suffering from acute heart attack.
Dr. Emad Marji, a specialist in cardiology and catheter therapy at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, said:

“The patient was transferred to the hospital’s emergency department suffering from severe shortness of breath and unconsciousness.”

He adds:

“After conducting the necessary tests, the patient was placed on a ventilator and it was found through an electrocardiogram that he was suffering from an acute myocardial infarction.”

He continues:

“Immediately, the patient was transferred to the cath lab, where he underwent a diagnostic catheterization.”

According to Dr. Marji,

“The catheterization showed an almost complete narrowing of the main trunk feeding the left side of the heart muscle, which means that this trunk supplies about 80% of the heart.”

Dr. Marji stated:

“The biggest challenge was that operating on this sensitive artery could lead to cardiac arrest.”

He confirmed that

“Thanks to the skills of the medical team and advanced equipment at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, the catheterization was successful. The patient was discharged from the hospital in good health.”
