The orthopedics team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, consisting of Dr. Haider Daher (Iraq) and Dr. Antonio Chalhoub (Lebanon), ended a 76-year-old man’s struggle with walking.
Orthopedic surgeon Antonio Chalhoub reported that the patient had been suffering from arthritis and difficulty walking for the past 50 years. The medical examination revealed that he had an increased bone density and bony growths in his hips.
He added: “We performed a hip joint replacement and removed the bone spurs. The surgery was very successful and the patient was referred to the physiotherapy unit at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital under the supervision of rheumatologist Wisam Al-Taee. The patient was able to walk the day after his surgery.”
