The cardiac care team at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, led by Dr. Emad Marji (Lebanon), performed a successful surgery for a 40-year-old man suffering from severe chest pain as a result of DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis).
Dr. Marji stated: “We used two stents to open the clogged right coronary artery, however, the patient still suffered from DVT. We administered Aggrastat (antiplatelet) to reduce the clots in the patient’s right coronary artery. Two hours later, the patient was in a stable condition and was sent to the CCU for monitoring. He underwent diagnostic catheterization after 24 hours which showed that his health was improving. The man was discharged from the hospital and returned home 4 days after the incident.”
