The intensive care staff at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital saved the life of a man in his 20s who was involved in a car accident 20 days ago. He presented to the emergency department in an unstable condition, unconscious, and with an irregular respiration pattern. He was immediately sent to the intensive care unit (ICU) under the supervision of a specialized medical team, led by neurosurgeon Dr. Hazim Moojid and Dr. Hussein Al-Hajj, anesthesiologist/intensivist and head of the ICU wards at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital.
The patient’s CT scan results revealed that he had multiple brain bleeds and hydrocephalus. During his stay at the ICU, the young man regained consciousness and he was disconnected from the ventilator. He was sent to the inpatient ward to continue his treatment and his recovery was celebrated by family and IHH medical staff.
