A woman in her 20s underwent an emergency appendectomy while she was giving birth at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital – Karbala. Obstetrician-gynecologist Taktum Sakhar Al-Erabi reported that during the C-section, she found that the patient was suffering from acute appendicitis. General surgeon Ammer Al-Masoodi was called immediately to remove the patient’s appendix, and the procedure was successful.”
Al-Erabi adds: “Praise be to Allah, we saved the patient and the baby’s life. Both the mother and her newborn daughter were discharged from the hospital in perfect health.”
