A fifty-year-old woman suffered a severe heart attack after undergoing a successful catheterization at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital.
Dr. Sami Saad, a specialist in cardiology and catheter therapy at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital, stated that
“We performed a successful cardiac catheterization on a patient in her fifties who was suffering from a heart attack.”
He explains:
“The patient came to the emergency department suffering from severe chest pain, and after conducting the necessary tests, we discovered an semi-total narrowing in the left anterior descending artery of the heart and the right artery.”
Dr. Saad confirmed that
“The medical team decided to perform a therapeutic catheterization for the patient, and three meshes were placed in the narrowed arteries. The operation took three hours.”
The cardiologist and catheter therapy specialist indicated that the medical team
“faced difficulties in inserting wires and balloons due to severe calcifications in the patient’s arteries.”
He explains:
“The technology available at Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital and in the hospital’s cath lab, as well as the efficiency of the medical and nursing staff, contributed greatly to the success of the operation.”
He adds:
“The patient was discharged after 24 hours under observation in cardiac intensive care, and she is in good health.”
